Te kāinga tūī

Room 3 has been observing the flowering cherry (Te kāinga tūī) this year.

In June we noticed it had empty branches and leaves on the ground.

When we returned to school after lockdown, some very excited children ran to tell Whaea Georgia that the ground was covered in pink under our trees!

We are waiting and watching for the Tūī to return.
In the meantime, we have been creating mahitoi of the rākau and tūī so it can blossom in our classroom.
