A busy Friday!

He aha tātau mahi i tenei Rāmere?
What did we do today?


We used evidence to observe this creature and think about what it could be.

Titiro atu! We looked closely at our old sunflower and drew it.

Then we took the seeds to the garden to plant for the next year.

He kaipūtaiao mātou.
We were scientists who worked out how to complete a circuit to make our rods light up and make sounds.

And we also created circuits with playdough:


So much fun to be had!

Te wā o Te Reo Māori

 Yesterday Ruma Toru joined with millions of people around Aotearoa for the Māori language moment - Te Wā o Te Reo Māori.


We wrote (tuhituhi), spoke (kōrero) and sang (waiata).

Te kāinga tūī

 Room 3 has been observing the flowering cherry (Te kāinga tūī) this year. 

In June we noticed it had empty branches and leaves on the ground.


When we returned to school after lockdown, some very excited children ran to tell Whaea Georgia that the ground was covered in pink under our trees!



We are waiting and watching for the Tūī to return. 
In the meantime, we have been creating mahitoi of the rākau and tūī so it can blossom in our classroom.














Manu tukutuku: Kite-designing for Pūtaiao

As part of our Material World unit this week we designed kites. We have been investigating and exploring what different materials and fibres...
